I bought an HP netbook with it on there and haven't been asked about upgrading once. It's really not a POS...it's about 457130547340571307 times better than vista. Sorry, but the STARTER edition IS a POS. They have disabled it to the point of extreme irritation. Being better than Vista is a recommendation like being better than George W.B.... Because of the lawsuits. Yes you can blame the lawyers on that like here in this country and those in the EU...... SOOOOO MS has various versions to comply with all the morons who do not want all the bells and whistles that COULD be added and have Windows Ultimate. Most people I think prefer the bundled goodies since they want them and to not have to mess with every freaking driver necessary to run all the litterally MILLIONS of combinations of peripherals and chipsets.. others.. should just stick to Linux if they want to incesantly meddle with device drivers and futzing with their systems.. On my shelf at home I have EVERY version of windows going back to Windows1 and Windows 286 and Windows 386. For some strange reason I have NEVER had anywhere near the issues that people seem to have with thier machines. I dont get hacked I dont get virus I dont get malware... I dont have issues with drivers since about 1989. I just say no to most of the things that want to install themselves onto my computer when I am out surfing. I buy good hardware that stays running year after year.... And I tell ANYONE that wants me to work on thier computer.... that "I don't know nuffin bout thore puter things" Life is short enough.. I get paid to work on servers on the network and to make it all keep running.. and my own systems... I put as little time into them when needed.. otherwise...
