wmw999 2,589 #2 January 15, 2010 And here I thought you were asking for suggestions of pick-up lines to use on vacation That said, either Skyfest or the Dublin boogie have a good reputation with less-experienced jumpers. I was at the American boogie (Skydance) last year and it was fun, too. Those are all pretty easy to get to for just a weekend. There's a skills camp at Spaceland the last weekend of this month -- you going to that? Not as boogie-like, but skills are good. Wendy P. To the OP, I highly recommend the Fitz boogie over St. Pat's weekend or you might even want to check out the Skydive Expo in Deland the weekend before. I'm not sure where the Twin Otters are coming from this year, but they have had Skydive Spaceland's Otters come over before. ladydyver 0 #12 January 15, 2010 it really depends on where you want to go and how much travel you want to do to get there. if you are wanting to come to the west coast. Bridge the Gap - at elsinore first weekend in may - not a boogie but if you do RW it is a great weekend Skydive Davis - All American Boogie June 24-27th Lost prairie (Montana) - July 24th - Aug 2nd. if you want to come out to this pm me and let me know; we always go to LP. Skyfest - about the same time as lost prairie (unforutnately for us as we haven't made it there yet) at Skydive Chicago; I have heard that this is a lot of fun. obviously not westcoast but may be closer to you. Summer Bonanza Boogie....i believe that is the first weekend in August. Again at Elsinore Leap for Lupus - usually the 2nd weekend in august at Kapowsin (washington) Skydive Mollala in oregon "All of the Above Boogie" Aug 27-29th First weekend in October is Chicks Rock at Elsinore Starr Idaho hosts has hosted a boogie around the third weekend in october for the last couple of years as well "No Turbines Boogie." Endless Summer Boogie is at Skydive Sandiego - last year dates were the 21st-22nd of November but don't know when they are hosting again this year. These are not the only events but ones that we have looked at closely as we are planning our vacations as well. If you look at the Calander on some of the dropzone websites they will tell you about the events that they have coming up and i believe that there is a boogie schedule on here as well. Have fun planning your summer of jumping! wmw999 2,589 #13 January 15, 2010 Note that it's Summerfest in Chicago, and Skyfest is at Skydive the Farm this year (June 15-21). Skyfest specifically includes newer jumpers, rather than just telling them to be careful. And you can definitely just do it for a weekend. I'm told Summerfest is a great boogie, and good for newer jumpers, as well. It's just not the same boogie. New, experienced, young, old, (well, maybe not 'Twardo), freefly, bellyfly everything. Even a Mr Potatohead. Not sure of the dates, but I think end of July, 2 weekends and the week between. AggieDave 6 #16 January 16, 2010 As long as you're not a swooper, the Holiday Boogie in Eloy is an incredible boogie! They have that whole awesome landing area out by the tunnel that you can swoop your ass off on! Plus THREE ponds, you can't get more swooper friendly than that! Manufacturers will be well represented at SkyFest'10 as usual. There will be many opportunities to get gear and stuff at severely discounted prices...some even free. There's an auction for all types of stuff and 100%-off certificates are not unheard of. I can't give the details as yet, Boogie owner/organizer J Schrimsher will later, but I know he is planning something VERY special for the young jumpers this year.
