Psychonaut 0 #1 January 20, 2010 A reserve repack website? In short, (and theory at this point..) each user would be able to create their own account on the website, and after logging in can select the date of their last pack, and obviously it shows when it needs to be repacked by. After that passes, pick the new date, etc.. Additional features could include email and text message reminders, and who knows what else at this point. Maybe it could be integrated with dz.com, or perhaps stand alone. Would you guys use this? What suggestions can you add?Stay high pull low
AggieDave 6 #2 January 20, 2010 Sorry buddy, no. Its every 6 months now, its not rocket surgery. There used to be a repack reminder here on DZ.com, it was used, but that was back when it was 120 days and harder to keep up with.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." NWFlyer 2 #3 January 20, 2010 Already been done. http://www.rigminder.net/ That said, I just put a reminder in my calendar to ping me 2 weeks before it's due so that if I've spaced out on the repack date, I have time to make arrangements to get it done."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences." -P.J. O'Rourke
pilotdave 0 #4 January 20, 2010 It's 180 days, not 6 months. I don't see how that's easier to remember than 120 days, except it's once less per year. But anyway such a site already exists... rigminder.net. Dave
AggieDave 6 #5 January 20, 2010 Sorry, I'm a couple of days off from 6 months, but really, when you water it down, most will get their rig repacked every 6 months or so. With the "oh, I need to leave my rig at the DZ after this weekend so it'll be ready for next weekend, it goes out on Wednesday..." There, we just made 6 months. --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

AggieDave 6 #7 January 20, 2010 I do really like your avatar, though! I'm a big time VW guy. I have a 1302 Super that I'm rebuilding as a German Look.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
Psychonaut 0 #8 January 20, 2010 I've been dying to get my hands on an old 2nd gen rabbit for a project car but it hasn't worked out yet. Currently have an 07 rabbit but the old vw is where it's at..Stay high pull low
AggieDave 6 #9 January 20, 2010 We have a 2007 Rabbit as well! Talk about a really fun car. Very nimble, quick and will hold an incredible amount of stuff! I took it to Colorado twice for swoop comps, packed to the brim with a weeks worth of jump stuff and camping stuff and food and beer... A 2nd gen Rabbit would be fun, but I'm really partial to the pre-Audi/pre-1979 stuff (aka the aircooled stuff).--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
