Skylar as a female kittens name...

I named my 8 week old female kitten Skylar and some people like it and some people really don't, just wanted to see what the general opinions are here...I am attaching a picture of her also

LuckyMcSwervy, no woman can resist my charm lol, I have had her for about a week now and she has really gotten comfortable with us (my girlfriend and my full sized male cat). It took her (and Logan... male cat) a little while but now she is just part of the bunch.

But, my [male] cat's name is GSX-R

ETA: My Puerto Rican friend's [male] dog is named Skylet* though too.

Thank you, I defend the fact that is could be either, just like so many names in general. I however think of it as more of a female name than a males name. Really to each his own in my opinion, but I have 2 co-workers who really insist that name Skylar is bad for a female or any cat really (I disagree, and was just hoping to expand their perspective).

I like it.

I named my two new kitten Sebastian (boy) and Elsie (girl and short for Elsinore). I have a dog named Quincy so it seemed to go with my "theme".

Well it gets pronounced as Gixxer

My next pet will be named after a canopy though. I believe someone else mentioned they named their cat Toggles I also know a dog at the farm named Velo.


But back on topic... I still hold out that I never met a woman named Skyler. However, when I did a google image search for "skyler" it comes out pretty even between male and female.

amstalder, Not sure what their problem is really, I personally like it and they could always call her Sky for short.

harmless, I have looked also and find a pretty fair split, I have only 1 friend named Skye (male) but Skyler seemed to fit when I looked at the kitten.

Who knows... whats important is she has a good home and is in good health.
