I'm surprised that nobody has pointed out how car paint and car keys go well together.

There is another option. They make a paint stripper in an aerosol can and this stuff is highly effective;)

I wouldnt have let it go. I would have gotten out and demanded her insurance info and if she wouldnt give it up I would have called the police. People like that continue to get away with that kind of shit because other people allow it.

I still like this answer the best. It's what I'd do. And if the woman shrugs it off, call the cops and wait for her return.

Skyrider's answer is the most gratifying, but I just don't have enough outlaw in me to go violent early. Besides, I'm usually packing and I'd hate to have the jury say that I was the one that escalated the encounter:S

I would then assist that woman in getting a handicap parking sticker because those stalls a so wide and away from my car. Also, they are close to the entrances, meaning she would never have to walk far enough to ever get any real exercise.:D

You are too funny! My RSX was about two months old when some idjit left a door ding on it that cost me $500.00 to fix. There was no way he/she didn't realize what happened but driving off was easier...

It sucks and I'd be mad too, but I refuse to stoop down to someone else's level to retaliate with an action I wouldn't purposefully do in the first place.

Oh, I wasn't talking about retaliation at all. If it had happened in front of me I would have simply asked for their phone number and insurance info and if they'd refuse I would had contacted the police with their license plate info. From the look of the damage on my car there must have some sort of damage to theirs too. Unfortunately, seeing my car, they figured driving off was a much cheaper option.
All I really wanted is for them to admit they caused damage and reimburse me for my expenses.
Yeah, in a perfect world...

"packing" ,,,you take a gun shopping ?

Some people in Georgia do. Nothing wrong with it.

I took the high road. I checked and there was no damage but just a little paint transfer from her car to mine. I went in the store after my wife and saw the hog in the checkout lane right next to me with her son who was probably 11 or 12.

I was about to say something and realized that she was huffing, puffing and panting from just walking around the store. Seems Karma has caught up with her early. Plus, she had on a brown velour sweatsuit. What could I say to her that she doesn't already do to herself? Still doesn't give her the right to go around dinging up cars in parking lots.

I actually drove home once, parked in the garage, and then saw that the right front fender of our little Toyota had been mangled in the parking lot at Target. >:( Whoever did it knew damn well they tore up our car, but no note, no nothin'. I sure hope karma was a bitch to them.:|

Most stores have cameras on the parking lot. They might be able to get the license number from there.

too much angry, retaliatory, responses here.

1 - If your car owns you: one might park away from the crowded areas, or own something that doesn't drive you crazy if it's bumped

2 - this woman is completely rude - but asking for an apology or insurance info (and calling the cops if she doesn't) is about right - those answers are right on target - the others aren't about setting right a wrong, it's just about self gratification - two assholes don't make a decent person unfortunately

so many frustrations out there.... it's hard not to just take it out on the next rude person

it would help if the pissy PC metro planning areas would actually design parking lots with spaces of a decent size for at least a middle sized car....

but only if people would park in the spaces - I don't see why it's so hard to adjust the car if the job is crappy the first shot....

Good idea. This was about 20 years ago, surveillance cameras were much less prevalent.

How cooperative are the stores if you tell them of a hit and run in their parking lot? Would they be agreeable to letting you view the tapes or not?

And if she gives a "so what" attitude in response, I'm gonna wait til she gets back in her car, and then I'm gonna fling my car door open hard a couple of times and give her two really nice dings, and then drive off.

See how the fat bitch will like it now. :|

That's ridiculous! You should've been more persistent with the police (asked to speak to someone's superior). But maybe you tried...

I used to work store security and although most times video can't be shown to the people against whom crimes are committed (stupid state laws), store security can certainly (and is really somewhat obligated to) review the tapes and set them aside for the police, and they have to give the tapes to the cops.

Regarding all the "broken" cameras - either those people were assholes (and you should've (maybe tried to?) gotten the police involved immediately), or the stores were using dummy cameras. Some stores even have the camera hooked up to a TV so patrons can see what the camera is pointed at, but there's never a tape in there. Some just mount cameras or covers to the wall for looks.

I have been doing that ever since, mostly to come back out and find a rusty, beaten up piece of junk right next to it...:D

:D:D

however, if some guy owns a super expensive car, and then parks kitty corner across 2 spaces in the spots right next to the front door, he shouldn't be surprised when a crappy piece of junk is squeezed into one of those spots 2 inches from the drivers side of his car.........

used to see that all the time in DC - and the sports car guy bitching about 'how rude' the 2nd driver was :S

Have you seen the movei "Zombie Land"

Rule 4:

Doubletap: Carrying a gun is a great idea but it should never be your primary weapon. When you do end up using it for that last minute 'oh shit' moment remember to double tap. Its an emergency and thats why your using it and not your cricket bat so why skimp? One bullet more in the head will go a long way to ensuring your survival.
