What Would You

Recommended Posts

Yesterday, while riding my 47 home (1947 harley)when I pull up to a stop sign, I see a guy knock a woman on her ass, by pushing her....

So I observe for a second, waving cars to just go around me! It is obvious they are arguiing..

Then he reaches down, Lifts her by the breast, and slams her to the ground....I rode my bike right up the wrong side of the road, jumped off, and grabbed his arm, throwing him off, just as he was going to punch her ....

the BITCH gets up, and yells for me to leave him alone, (fuck he is 70 pounds heavier than me, wish I had noticed that earlier)

anyway, After calming them both down , i simply told her, if this is how they want to live, do it behind doors, not out where children can see it, THEN...her Ol man makes a move on me, I pushed him off the first time, but second time , I spiced him up, (Pepper sprayed em)

this is the third time something like this has happened to me.(stop an asshole, just to have the victim turn on me)..Many say I should ignore...I simply can't...

So...What would you do?

Myself, I will keep breaking it up..."Just in case"....

Good point...But when you ride a chopped Harley...Calling the cops is the last thing you do!

BTW , as she walked him away, SHE was on the phone, no doubt calling the cops, which I am sure arrested both of them for drunk and disorderly, (They were hsitfaced)!

I hauled ass out of the area....

Keep up buying the pepper spray. Who knows if you just saved someone from serious injury waiting for the cops to show up. Just be careful. The biggest myth out there is that bullies and wife-beaters tend to "wusses" when confronted. They usually just are people with anger issues or people who love to fight.

Don't know what to tell you. I've had to peel 110 pounds of pissed off trailer trash off my back defending "her man" when I was stopping him from beating her. I'd like to think I'm smart enough now to mind my own biz and hit 9-1-1 but I don't know if I could NOT react

I fucking hate these situations... last one ended me in court (Thanks Maryland Law).
So there I was about to walk home from the hospital after a long shift and I was talking to a buddy outside when we heard fighting. It was a couple, both drunk, across the street. At first we just watched and took a few steps closer just to get a better handle on what was going down. This asshole, and might I say very large 6'5 270 ish lb douchbag of a husband body slams his 120lbish wife in the pavement. We both sprinted over to her aid. I was able to verbaly seperate him while some other onlookers called it in. My buddy, an ER Nurse, and I helped the noticably upset and very drunk wife. The stupid Biatch was screaming at us "btw we didn't touch her ever" to leave her and her abusive husband alone. I was ready to bounce and say fuck it when the cops came, took dude away and then wrote our info down with statements. A few weeks later I get a letter calling me to court. NEVER again will I step in, I will call it in and deck the asshole but I will never give a statement again in Maryland.
Long story short I missed 4 days of work over a 3 month period of time while he postponed, plea bargained and manipulated the system. I was in court 3 times for no reason, unpaid, all b/c some guy was an asshole and wouldn't own up to it. They finally fined his ass and made him go to counseling. Btw he spent 2 days in jail after the incident. Anyway screw that, this stupid bitch was all over him in court( she was body slammed just weeks before and hurt by this asshole) so I should have just minded my own damn business and kept walking.

Thanks for lettin me vent!:S

Fuck that...You did what a MAN does , the reason he kept getting Postponements, Is his lawyer was watching to see if you showed up, (If not, no case they walk) , he see's you ,and postpones, (old trick)So you not only saved a "Possible" victim , you made it stick that the world will not put up with their shit! 2 days was nothinhg granted,,,,but it got his attention!

i say keep on helping, (but know it is dangerous to do so)

I think you did the right thing, by and large. There was some risk of some negative consequences to you, physically (if he'd been armed) or legally (if someone tried to trump up charges against you and/or sue you), but I think your response was reasonable. It would also have been reasonable to simply call 9-1-1 and maybe yell at them that you'd done so if you wanted to play it safer, yet still do something. Doing nothing would not have been an ethical choice.

No, don't think that way. You did the right thing, too. Practicing good citizenship sometimes exacts a bit of an expense - but society is the better for your having done so. If there's a next time, I hope you do it again.

Luckily in the past the worst that has happened to me was that I was nearly slashed with a knife and caught it with my left hand and took it away only needed some stitches.(about 30)

It left two people able to go on with their lives and someday maybe straighten out how fucked up they were.

They both were jailed and paid teh consequences.

Sadly a few years later the guy was involved with another woman and it became a murder/suicide.

I have a close friend who did pretty much the same thing and got stabbed through the torso by a fishing fillet knife that was very dirty.

The knife was thrust through his back and came out his chest.

He had his aorta barely nicked and had to have it sewn up and reinforced.

Luckily he survived the infection as well.

Some day fishing on the river he had...:|

Thats exactly how I justified the time spent in court. My resolve was much stronger than his. What pisses me off is how she acted and easy it is for them to postpone these hearings. I was there he was there lawyers present, judge present, fuck the system this guy wasted my time and his wife could give a shit. It should have gone like this.

Defendant: "I'm a guilty prick and I am sorry" Prosecution: " We agree"
Judge: "Witnesses agree; 2 yr porbation and counseling plus some fines, now get the hell outta here"
End:D

Still, I was the "bigger" man.:o
