bertusgeert 1 #26 February 18, 2010 Quote Quote the criteria - i work in finance and value my career vs. other stuff...say...50/50. i have a couple years of solid experience (looking to corpfin/I-banking/PE/Hedge world - not picky) - i'd love to be able to start jumping again - have always aspired to BASE - be close to a place where I can continue paragliding, - get closer to the ocean to learn to surf, snorkel, scuba, - of course i love to ski - where the people are friendly & easy going Any suggestions for places I should be evaluating in addition? - Finance jobs - Check - Skydive - Check - Paraglide - Check - Check - Cool place/Cool people - Check Geneva And expensive, right? I spent some time living in Grenoble and REALLY want to find a way to live in France again. Is it difficult to get authorization for France? Switzerland? --------------------------------------------- As jy dom is moet jy bloei!

Work authorization - how easy is it for a foreigner to come in and take a job from a local. Usually they have preferable terms for locals, esp. Switzerland from what I have heard. --------------------------------------------- As jy dom is moet jy bloei!
DrewEckhardt 0 #32 February 18, 2010 Quote Quote *DENVER* you can do everything on your list here except the seaside stuff of course. Or jump in the winter. Out of the 11 years I skydived while living in Boulder, Colorado there were no months I didn't jump due to the weather in spite of being a wimp who won't jump when the ground temperatures are below 40 degrees. Boulder and Longmont get 300 days of sun a year, and the winter day time highs average over 40 with plenty of forays into the 50s and even 60s. Denver is about 25 miles from both. It's also a dry cold, where 40 feels like 50+ in wetter places like Washington State or California. Quote Or do anything worth a crap that doesn't involve a set of skis in the winter... While there's a lot of snow from big storms, the sun and high temperatures melt it fast and the low humidity means that some sublimates. It disappears fast. Some folks say that I need a degree and others not ... But I'm still looking for a job there (or there abouts) anyway. Good luck mate and I hope that you find the right place/job for you.
