unclear on the concept

Reminds me of someone on a homebrew forum who was dead set against using dry malt extract (instead of malted barley). He said something like "anything that comes out of a container tastes like shit!"

Which made me wonder how he drank beer. Perhaps he ferments it on his floor and then sorta sucks it up? (putting aside the fact that malt comes in containers too)
