runner_13 0 #1 May 24, 2005 i am new to the sport with only about 16 jumps under my belt and am completety hooked. hopefully ill have enough cash saved up over the summer to get a rig. i am about 190 out the door and have been jumping a 210 no problem. im just curious to hear what has been a good starter for people. if anyone has any suggestions id appreciate some feed back. thanks... GQ_jumper 4 #3 May 24, 2005 ask your instructor for a couple of suggestions on what would be a good starter canopy for you to progress with, and then demo all of them and see which one fits you the best. then when you do get your first rig, jmp the piss out of it until it is falling apart and you can fly it like a champ wiht your eyes closed, blindfolded and backwards before you think about getting something else. my personal recomendation is a Pilot from aerodyne. i have a 210 and love that thing, it opens consistently even when you trash pack it, its real predictable and forgiving and there is a lot you can do with it when you really learn how to fly, i am just barely starting to raelize what my canopy is capable of so i'll be on it for a long time to come. but again i don't know how you fly so ASK YOUR INSTRUCTORS!!!History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D.
