drdive 0 #1 February 25, 2010 It seems every freeking time I try to watch the Olympics, the networks have some dorks sliding over the ice with some stone thing followed by some dudes sweeping the ice for no apparent reason, and it goes on and on!! Is it just me, or does anybody else think the curling is over covered in the olympic TV coverage??"We saved your gear. Now you can sell it when you get out of the hospital and upsize!!" Squeak 17 #3 February 25, 2010 Nope not bored with it at all. Haven't seen one Winter Olympics event It holds ZERO facination for me You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! How's yours doing? DrewEckhardt 0 #4 February 25, 2010 Quote does anybody else think the curling is over covered in the olympic TV coverage?? Nope. After I dropped in the last ER Season 4 DVD (6) and first Season 5 NBC's Olympic broadcast was completely irrelevant. Most television is crap (even major league sports). Why should the Olympics be better?

shah269 0 #14 February 25, 2010 The Norwegian drive by is very impressive! To be able to XC ski 10km and then hold a gun steady to take out a target at 100m? Impressive! Shame it's so slow! I bet if they just showed the high lights it would garner more support. But you have to also understand, in the US, Ice Dancing......god I freaking hate that shit....gets more ratings than big hill ski jumping.Life through good thoughts, good words, and good deeds is necessary to ensure happiness and to keep chaos at bay. NickDG 23 #17 February 25, 2010 >>dorks sliding over the ice with some stone thingJust wait a few years. There will be a new form of the sport called "Free Curling!" Spiked, tattooed, young punks in baggy clothes, will be trash talking each other while hurling rocks that are on fire. They will also wear a "special" patch to distinguish themselves from "old fashioned" curlers." NickD
shah269 0 #18 February 25, 2010 When I was younger I had a chance to try ski jumping since I was a very good XC skier. Not off the big hill mind you. Rather a smaller one......much much much smaller! And even though I only flew 40ft (10m) I was impressed at how the air "felt" If I were a different body type I really would have like to have continued but just having strong legs wasn't enough. I've often wondered why they don't install small cameras on the helmets of the ski jumpers. The view coming down the chute is amazing! But never the less, Americans seem to have a hard on for Polka On Ice.....I have no clue why! And why do all these "dancers" cry at the end of their little dance? Do you see Speed Skaters cry? NO! STOP CRYING! You'll cause your guyliner to run!Life through good thoughts, good words, and good deeds is necessary to ensure happiness and to keep chaos at bay. jimmytavino 16 #21 February 25, 2010 well NOT 'sick of it" But... a bit confused about it..seems to me to be "shuffleboard on ice",, and i guess there is some sort of strategy to it...But WHY don't the announcers EXPLAIN... the finer points?? TELL the viewer EXACTLY how the scoring is figured....... point out what constitutes a good shot, versus a bad shot...as for the sport itself???? any athlete who handles a 42 pound Stone,, with grace and finesse' is Ok in my book...as for the sweeping??/. pure science... the friction melts the ice, makes the stone slide further than it would,,otherwise.... the only things that Does make me Laugh!!??? is the way the slider "holds that position".. so long after the stone is released... hahah posers!!!! Like many of the Olympic sports,, some degree of explantion could go a LONG way towards making them more interesting...to the viewers jmy

If they gave the athletes each a camera then they could have increased their marketshare significantly. Maybe there is some type of Olympic rule that prohibits such things. CanuckInUSA 0 #24 February 25, 2010 I like watching the last few rocks in the last end of a close curling match. There really is a lot of strategy to this game. But, I would watch more of the match if I would only stop falling asleep during the early ends.
