kosanke 0 #1 May 21, 2005 i have a stiletto with a small rip. size:approx 1 box. a BB could fall through. location: T1 aft by the warning label. I have looked for limits in Poynter manual. is it 4 boxes before requiring a patch? what is the recommendation without using addhesive tape.
BIGUN 1,483 #2 May 21, 2005 Personally, I don't use adhesive tape. While others may disagree, I would patch it now.Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
KevinMcGuire 0 #3 May 21, 2005 First off forget about adhesive tape it wont stick well on ZP and further more, it will, in time, destroy the material it sits on. Second, the size hole you have described is not a factor. My decision to patch a zp canopy comes only wen I can get my index finger through it easily. Till then, don't worry about it. I could give you a better assesment if you posted a pic of it but from the sounds of it its no problem. K
Hooknswoop 19 #4 May 21, 2005 Quotesize:approx 1 box. A patch will do more damage in needle holes that it will fix. Just keep an eye on it. Like others have mention F-111 tape will just make things worse in the long run. Derek
kosanke 0 #5 May 21, 2005 thanks for all your replys. i did'nt think i would hear back so fast. it's friday night. i felt that the patch repair was a bit early. i was looking for factory standards and guidelines. could'nt find any and poynter's manual doesn't give a specific # of boxes damaged. i'm so glad that dropzone exist. thanks again. avgjoe 0 #6 May 23, 2005 Someone told me you should put marks on the boxes around it to see if it grows or not is this a good idea? Avgjoe Hook it for safety Bon Gustos(trainee)
kosanke 0 #7 May 23, 2005 i have put a mark on the location for easy reference. make sure what you mark it with will not cause further damage. the manufacture's have put out repair info on how to make patches, but i still have yet to see in writing, if it's more than 3-4 boxes, it requires a patch.
