Linking Excel to Powerpoint labels

So...

I know how to insert Excel tables and graphs into powerpoint so that it's linked for changes to the .xls, but how about this one:

Can I have a label (i.e. a textbox) in .ppt, and somehow have the number update if I change it in the Excel file?

I am sent numbers from various people every week, and need to make a bunch of graphs every week. This. gets. very. tedious.

(Fortunately someone else in India does the work, i'm just trying to save them time).

Select the cell(s) in the Excel spreadsheet and then go to PP.. and Paste/Special.
Select as a link
