Remember the Oshkosh crash a few years back? Two dead, two P-51's destroyed by a botched formation landing? I've been lucky enough to ride in a P-51. It's a shame to crash them like that.

These WWII planes are beautiful, so sad there are so few and dwindling.

I wish more aircraft would emerge with the same planform, HUGE motor, (sometimes) dual seats, and low wing.

Nazi was a good guy. I met him fueling up his yellow Staggerwing Biplane at Stellar a couple times. Unlike some Stellar residents he didn't seem to look down on us "flying club pilots".

Yeah, sad state of affairs. But if ya' gotem', fly em'!! Be careful out there!! If ya' wanna' get up close and personal, go to the National Championship Air Races at Reno in Sept. It all boils down to 3:30PM on Sunday when the Big Irons taxi out for the "Gold Race!!" Strega, Dago, the Bear, Risky Business just to name a few!! See em' and touch em' while you still can.
