New car, anyone?

I just don't see me driving one even if I ever had the money. I'm sure it would be a blast to drive, but as a matter of practicality (if you can ever call a super car practical) I'd rather have an Audi R8 because I'd actually drive it.

Why should someone feel like a twat driving that?

Some people feel like a twat when they skydive dressed in a jumpsuit that resembles the Papal Swiss Guard.

Others think they look pretty cool.

It's all about how ostentatious one is.

But most people would still think they were a twat.

I've never met anyone that's owned a LOOK AT ME car that wasn't a twat.

Yup, they can be rather twattish. Now someone who can afford to drive something like that can also afford not to care about what other people think. They have the ability to have the car to drive around while those that show contempt at the owners' attitudes have their self-respect. What ever makes you happier in the end.

Or when they jump a tiny canopy or a huge wingsuit. Others do it because they like to go fast or glide better. Whatever you're into.

Not that I have ever had the opportunity to drive/own one, but from everything I hear, the Audi R8 is an awesome car and yes something that is driven on the public roads by those who can afford it without drawing too much attention.

I would love to test drive this McLaren, but it is not practical for use on the public roads.

Exotic and semi-exotic automobiles mean different things to different people. To some they will buy these exotic cars and park them. From a purist driving point of view this is a crime. But to each their own. I like cars that breath fire and corner like they are on rails but cars that do not attract too much attention to them. For myself my dream car is the Porsche GT3 RS (similar in performance and price to this McLaren but much less exotic in appearance). It is the closest Porsche you can get to the full RSR race car derivative. But these cars (the McLaren, Audi R8, Porsche, Ferrari and others like the Corvette, Ford GT, etc, etc, etc) are over kill for our public roads. To truly understand the performance of these cars, you need to drive them on a race track. Owning a exotic super car and driving it on the public roads is similar to owning a cross-braced canopy and only ever coming in straight for all you landings not trying to induce any speed.

Nice car though this McLaren ... who can I borrow it from and test drive it at my local race track? B|

Nope. My projection was supposed to reflect lack of jealousy in other peoples rides. I had a low profile vehicle in high school. I was very showy then. It got the girls. You must understand that how you feel about other peoples rides that you can't afford is your problem. You can "hate" all you want, but in the end, the douchebags are happy and you are highly affected by this.

We visited Factory Five awhile back, and are currently saving for one of these. (always pay cash for cars). Will be building it myself.

i used to own a 67 Shelby GT 500, yes a real one, it was nice, but I was so paranoid about theft. I drove it on a weekly basis, sold it to a guy that had a real Cobra, and a GT 350...he needed my car to complete his "trilogy." It now sits in some garage...too bad for the car.

The Mk4 Complete kit gives you everything you need to build your car, in one big package. The only things you’ll need are the engine/transmission/rear end, wheels/tires, and a paint job

HOW THE HELL is it a complete kit, if you still need to provide are engine/tranny rear end (wtf) wheels and tyres.

in my world complete me COMPLETE in it's entirety
It also states COMLPETE Fuel system....but you have to supply the fuel pump:S:S:S:S

After another look, this new McLaren could actually compete on the open market with cars like the Audi R8. It's affordable to the doctor/lawyer/venture capitalist crowd. As long as the economy does not collapse we may see a number of these cars on the road in the coming years.

But my dream car is still the Porsche GT3 RS and well ...
I think I will be dreaming for a while.

thats why i like the car...i get to choose, and personally build, the drive train. it usually takes about 30 k to do this car right, and i dont mind scratching and dinging a 30k car...or even breaking it it half....with a car upwards of 200k, i would rather invest in gold, and let it sit in a safe. (actually gold is a terrible long term investment)

I'm not pissin onh about the cost, just that it's not a COMPLETE KIT, it's little more than a Rolling Chassis
