The house my grandfater built was gone...just a concrete slab remains there in the country south of Plant City. The swimming hole ( a lake created in the 1940's from phosphate mining) we used to go to all the time had grown up considerably in the last 45 years, and the little island we used to swim to had several snappers sunning themselves. Back in the day.. in the early 1960's snappers were pretty rare in the lakes around there and there were none in the lake we swam in. Now it seems they have moved in.
