Zep 0 #1 March 31, 2010 You go to a restaurante that on the menu has calamar a la romana would you expect a heavy fish n chip like batter or a light tempura batter?. Ok, my argument is that if I order fresh calamar a la romana an it comes in a heavy batter then it probably is'nt fresh but frozen. Your opinions are needed. edit, I got to go an cook now but I'll be back latter. Gone fishing

I prefer my squid in the very light batter, and fried to a nice crispy crunch on the little arms and just a hint pepper and other spices. jtnesbitt 0 #11 March 31, 2010 Wow...10 replies and not a single answer. OK, my thoughts are it depends on where you order it. I agree that if it came out with a heavy batter my first suspicion would be that it isnt fresh and was frozen. However, if it isnt the most upscale place, then it COULD still be fresh, but was thrown in a deep fryer for simplicity and time purposes."If this post needs to be moderated I would prefer it to be completly removed and not edited and butchered into a disney movie" - DorkZone Hero
