AT&T wireless sucks! More phone drama

Recommended Posts

I've had 2 iPhones (first gen) for over three years now. I built up about 11,000 minutes in rollover, so last year, I moved to a 450 minute plan (the smallest there is), and live off the rollover minutes.

My mom is getting older, retired, and they said I could get a phone for her for an additional $10/month. I also have Verizon, and they said I could get an additional phone for $10/month. The deciding factor was the rollover minutes. So I went with AT&T.

Now, when I called AT&T, they said I couldn't get a "family talk" plan to include my mom on the 450-minute plan, because that plan was "too old", and I would have to go to their newer 550-minute. Fine, as long as I get to keep my rollover minutes. They said "we don't normally do that, but they'll get approval from the supervisor". This was February, and they got approval, it was noted in the account, and I got my rollover minutes. And I got a phone for my mom (which was the whole point) for another $10/month.

The next month (march), I verified that I still had the rollover minutes. They were still there.

This month, they took all the rollover minutes off the account. I called them, explained the situation, and they said they would open case number. Today I got a call that said they took all the rollover minutes off the account, because they said I switched to the 450 minute plan in January (I didn't, it was last year), and they were only going to keep the rollover minutes for that switch. The switch to the 550 minute plan, they were taking all the additional rollover minutes off. I told them, no they have the dates wrong. They said no they didn't, and they weren't going to keep the rollover minutes. I told them I wanted to cancel all my phones, and they said because it's been two months, I have to pay out the contract termination on my mom's phone. I said since they reneged on their agreement to keep my rollover minutes, I shouldn't have to. They said yes I would.

What a crock of shit! They lied about keeping my rollover minutes. They waited until after the 30 day cancellation to change my rollover minutes back, then told me I'm on the hook for another two-year contract.

Can't believe the lies. Just can't believe it.

AT&T - they will lie, cheat and steal. Do NOT use them.
Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD

Take it to arbitration or escalate to a supervisor. I'd cancel anyway just to get away from BS like that...bummer dude.
So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright

Make light!

Yep AT&T totally blows... Lately I have been talking to my realtor a lot who has AT&T and iPhone, he drops the calls nearly every time I talk to him. It's irritating enough talking to people with AT&T who drop calls all the time, I couldn't imagine actually having them for a service.

I hate At&t. I got away from them after they screwed me 8 or 9 years ago. I have had T-mobile since and couldnt be happier! The dont screw me and when i call they answer quik and always nice. Also they have checked my account when calling about something else. They have told me several times they have a better plan with more min. that cost less with no extension of contract:)

Nothing opens like a Deere!

You ignorant fool! Checks are for workers!

I think phone companies and the airlines are one in the same. It all depends on luck. We have had AT & T for 20 years. My wife is a flight attendant and i travel all over,,we never have had dropped calls,,,,never any lost bags,,never a canceled flight....weird stuff :S

smile, be nice, enjoy life
