Ketia0 0 #1 April 12, 2010 Was AMAZING! Just to kind of feel yall in, here recently I have been in the dumps... I wouldnt say depressed... Just sad alot. Really feeling blue, and not having that usual zeel that I usually get... So, anywho, I went to SD Houston this weekend for Brian Germains canopy course. I wanted to learn more about flying my canopy and how to do it safely... Here is a breif rundown of my amazing weekend... I left work early friday so I could do a couple fun jumps before I did all the canopy work for the weekend. Most who know me, know I am really shy... Its just the way I am.. so I quietly walked in, and got on a call. Kinda just kept to myself, while I got my rig and crap outta the truck. Well... Once I was on a 20, I geared up and headed to the plane... I got on the plane and was just going to do a Hop&Pop, so I could have alone time in the sky, and look around at the DZ and LZ. Well.. The pilot forgot, and went all the way to altitude... On the way up, I figured I would just jump by myself. But there were other fun jumpers on the load, and got me with another solo belly person, and we jumped together. They exit went good, but my sunglasses flew off in freefall! But I caught them! Anywho, I put em back on and stayed on my belly not doing any flips till about 4 grand, and then pulled.... Then I went and did another fun jump, but solo this time, and flew on my back for a bit.. still trying to learn how to do that right... Well.. After the last load, I got on my laptop and just kinda set by myself... Some of the locals invited me to come out and hang with them.. and the DZO! I agreed, and we took my truck. Man we had fun!! I got to sit and talk with the DZO about alot of stuff, and really got to know him.. Was really awesome.. We didnt get back to the DZ till about 11:30pm.. Saturday I awoke to the nicest lady cooking an amazing meal!!! And the prices werent to shabby! Showered, and went and checked whim Brian would get there.. Went through Brians class and learned ALOT! There was so much I didnt know!!! I highly encourage anyone to take that class!!! Was very informative! Had an awesome time doing some hop&pops from 7grand, to try new canopy manuevers, and I learned different ways to land.. And turn!! Who knew about harness turning??????? So anywho, We had a bonfire that night and it was awesome. We all just hung out and talked. They new I didnt drink, So I drank my redbulls, and they drank thier drinks.. and it was cool!!!!! Sunday got up and started the whole thing over again! Last jump of the day was the best!!! I wont put why on here, cause that will stay between me and the guys who jumped... But it was a first!!!! Long story short, I couldnt quit smilling on my way home... It felt so good to be in the sky, to hang out with fellow skydivers, and just to have fun. I left all my stress and worries at home... And decided im not picking them back up... This was such an amazing weekend, I have decided Im going to start traveling more! This is just what I needed.. I hardly ever leave home. I always work... Thanks to everyone at SD Houston.. You really made my weekend! Yall will be seeing alot more of me!!! And im bringing cases of redbull!!!!! I remembered why I loved skydiving so much this weekend. JohnRich 4 #3 April 12, 2010 Glad you enjoyed the atmosphere at Skydive Houston. One comment: It's not a good idea to leave your log book laying around in the open like that - someone could pick it up and write some interesting new entries...
captain1976 0 #4 April 12, 2010 Skydiving is a great way to ward off depression. If we could only convey that to the rest of world, we couldn't get on a load.Blue Skies You live more in the few minutes of skydiving than many people live in their lifetime

Aww, I only do that when they want me to sign a jump that hasn't been filled in yet. I fill it in for them.
