heavydude 0 #1 April 13, 2010 Read a book called "Picking up the pieces" which deals with aircraft salvage and restoring planes in the bush for ferry flights in the Yukon. Most planes were primarily DH Beavers retrived in the bush. Really good book if you are into airplanes. Author recovers and Ferrys back all kinds of seaplanes that have sunk, flipped etc. I ran across it on a link to Amazon after researching some Grumman Widgeon stuff. airtwardo 7 #2 April 13, 2010 I have an old book I came across in a used bookstore a few years ago...lists crashed war-birds on the west-coast with photos of when, where, what happened and what's left...I'm sure most of not all have been recovered or scavenged by now, but STILL a cool book. ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~
