Looking for good skydiving pictures!

I'm an artist and I'm looking for some good skydiving pictures to paint, if you have any please send them to me. Grape@dropzone.com I can send you a print of the painting, if I use your picture.

Good luck with that endeavor.
You realize it cost money to get the skydives and experience to jump a camera. Then, you have to buy the camera and pay it off etc.


Sorry, you're broke but it seems like a very weak plan to make money.

(Feel free to look at my photos but that may give you some ideas but I don't give you permission to steal the work I did.)
I am positive someone will be willing to help you but it seems like a very strange request to me.

Awesome! Maybe we can make a trade. You send me a painting and I'll take a picture of it. I can send you a print if I use your painting (sorry, I'm broke and it costs money to make prints).

You do make a good point.... I guess I didn't think that through very well. Okay, so I guess I can give the photographer a free print. I wasn't planning on selling the paintings, though, and there's no need to get hostile.

You just need to understand how much time, money and effort it takes to just be a crappy freefall photographer let alone one that can actually take a good picture.

Get photos from your boyfriend, than.

I understand the pot head thing though.
I don't smoke it myself but Its not the pot that made you not think it through.

Your priorities may be maligned due to pot. I.E. you cant be that broke if you can afford to buy/grow it.


At 25/each jump After the initial 1200 to get rated.
you need to buy a rig. (approx)$3000.
the periphial gear(alti,goggles helmet etc) $700.

Then you need 200 jumps before you can officially jump the camera that cost no less than $600
add in the CF cards, the sweet lens the bite switch and mounting bracket...and more then likely a new helmet $1500


Then if you need to sell these photos you will have to have a laptop. (I had to buy one specifically for selling photo) $600-it was a CHEAP laptop.


editing software $1200.


I just want to be sure you UNDERSTAND what youre asking for is NOT FREE.

If you are asking how your post in the blue skies forum was hostile go read it.

I understand that you are looking for work and I would never try to stop someone from working, however. you are going into a forum wear people are mourning the loss of their friends and advertising.

In this particular online group there arent many that are looking for that kind of advertisement.

Read the forum rules, think it through and you'll be received with openess.

Okay, I get it but art school wasn't cheap either. Supplies and the hours of work I put into it amount to a lot as well. It's not cheap for either of us. I get your point. As far as the other post goes, I made a mistake and I was wrong, okay? I didn't mean to offend anyone.

I really didn't want to post that, it's not a good representation of what I do. Like I said, that is very old and I've progressed since it was done. I'll get my friend to fix my scanner tomorrow and I'll post some better pictures.

I have some photos from here and there related to skydiving. Some are from Everest and some from Wingsuit Bigways. They sit in a book on my shelf and if they would help you by getting them out and I am glad to share!

Wouldn't the target consumer of an oil painting of skydiving be a different customer than someone paying you to video their tandem? Would her painting a copy of one of your photos really diminish your income stream? I doubt it, but if so, don't give her any. She made a polite request to be given good photos, and was very upfront about what she intended to do with them. Hardly seems to be a Western Union scam.
