NewGuy2005 53 #1 April 16, 2010 I'm going to take a motorcycle trip west in June to scout out potential places to retire. That is, assuming I ever get to. West of the Mississippi, where in your mind is the ultimate place to retire?

Southern_Man 0 #12 April 16, 2010 I'd pick somewhere between Albuquerque/Santa Fe area and somwhere in Northern Colorado. Good weather, good topography, access to mountains and hobbies for me, I like the culture/art/architecture out there, etc. Arizona would be too hot for me. Montana is great to visit between May and October but would be awfully desolate a lot of the time."What if there were no hypothetical questions?" JohnRich 4 #14 April 16, 2010 We can't answer that for you. You haven't provided a single shred of information about what kind of weather you like, what your hobbies are, what scenery you enjoy, what your monthly budget will be, whether you like city life or country life, etc. All you can get out of this thread, as is, is what other people like. Yes, I did that on purpose, and that is the response I'm looking for. I already know where I have been thinking of retiring. I'm trying to think outside my own box, so to speak. That being said, what are your suggestions?

Beautiful place and nice people. The weather was great...then it snowed on us on the way back to the airport. June 6th. Repeating: It was snowing on us in F'ing JUNE! Nope, not going to live there, although I will visit again! http://picasaweb.google.com/DirtBagSwooper/GlacierNationalPark#5344460534206663810--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
