Spring in Texas

Recommended Posts

Flower 6s.JPG - Last one from the Colorado River.

Then the remainder are from last month in the Texas desert, west of Del Rio, along the border with Mexico. Desert plants tend to be rather prickly.

Flower 3s.JPG is a yucca plant, one of the few I can actually identify.

You really got some good shots, John! Here in the 'desert country' of West Texas, we got a lot of moisture over the winter months and really set things up for the spring. The smaller barrel cactus varieties are in bloom as well as the prickly pear and 'weeds'. This past week, we've had a total of about an inch of rain and that has helped to get things going. I love this time of year!

This is a great year for flowers here. We spent the last week camping at Enchanted Rock, and it was spectacular.

There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)
