Aw, shoot! I wasn't tryin' to be ornery. Heck no, I got some really great stuff from Santa! A new rope bag, A leather boot bag, a hard case for carrying my best hat when travelin'! Santa was really good to me! I also got a very good book! It's funny in places, a bit of a tear jerker in parts... just a wonderful book. I've started reading it while the turkey is in the oven. I can't put this book down, except to visit with the folks here on the ol' BF!
Sure hope, your Christmas is going great!

Oh yeah. I know these "technical difficulties" so well. Mostly, after several glasses of fine white wine, I start to forget all my brilliant skills on adjusting a new tv, a DVD, an old video player, old turntable and the complete music equipment....

It used to end with a total darkness in my house.

Well, I was trying to change my picture and was having 'trouble'. Probably, because I'm stone sober! I gave-up the booze, 10-yrs. ago. Anyhow, here's my new 'avatar'. Yup! that's me, breakin a Texas, free-range turkey! Hey, those things can be mean!
Thank you, for the compliment about my hat. It's a Resistol that I've had a lot of years and it's been stepped on, knocked-off by heavy brush, had cow poop on it and I don't know what all. Periodically, I'll chunk it into the horse trough, shape it and stick it on my head till it dries.
Hope, you're having a very Merry Christmas. Where you're at, it's Kris Kringle, isn't it? I'm not very world traveled.:$

Hi Chuck,

to tell the truth, until today I was unable to upload a matching pic to create an avatar :$ Then I gave up and leave it just like it is.

B|B| Your hat has a nice history - I have a very old hat which I only use for hunting, love that one. It's really dirty, lost its shape but: The best fitting on my head!

For us, X-Mas nearly is over. Dec 24th is our most important day of that season, when family members meet, have nice lunch or dinner together, later start to have funny little disputes - then, at about 22.00 hrs, the young folks leave quickly to enter their clubs and discotheques - we oldies stay together until last bottle is empty. No. That sounds not right, we send someone to look for another load of bottles and go on all night long....

:D:D:D

Tomorrow is another fine free holiday to sleep as long as possible - in the afternoon, there will be a last meeting of family members which have a longer way back home - and then: X-Mas is over!

Eating too much, few kgs more (>:(), a lot of working to clean up the house but, it was nice to have them all together! I love my huge family and everybody they bring along.

Holy crap. I should stop thinking about XMas. Easter time is coming soon enough :S

Yes, Chuck, we still have Kris Kringle as well as Christ child, bringing all the gifts for the kids ... on Dec. 24th. In the afternoon of that day, the tree is decorated, kiddies have to wait in another room until dad is ringing a bell - and then they all coming in and jump on all christmas gifts placed under the tree.

Oh well, my son is 24 now and really no more jumping into the room for his gifts - he's kind enough to spend few hours with the oldies and then leaving quickly to jump with his g/f into his favourite club to celebrate their own party night B|B| until 0500 am or longer.... Aaah, those long party nights, I'll never forget my own....
