blacklabjumper 0 #12 May 10, 2010 According to my sources the longest street is named after the smallest state. Rhode island Ave is the longest although this may no longer be correct. I know it was a few years ago. BIGUN 1,488 #18 May 11, 2010 7th Street crosses the National Mall where it becomes 7th Street, NW. Farther north, it crosses New York Avenue at Mount Vernon Square and then crosses Rhode Island Avenue where it becomes U.S. Route 29. 7th Street remains U.S. 29, but becomes a diagonal and continues as Georgia Avenue.
