Adventurer arrested after becoming first person to cross Channel in chair attached to helium-filled balloons

A U.S. adventurer has been arrested by French gendarmes after completing a daring attempt to cross the English Channel using a cluster of helium-filled balloons.

Jonathan Trappe was questioned by police officers after landing safely in a field near Moeres, northern France, following his four hour flight.

To cheers from well-wishers, he had earlier lifted off from a field in Kent strapped underneath his colourful collection of gigantic inflatables.

There are some pictures on this site of military freefall jumpers exiting an osprey, the snag hazards on the inside of the fuselage were significant!!!
