monkycndo 0 #26 June 1, 2010 Many years back, my girlfriend at the time and I moved into a new apartment together. After about a year, we realized we needed some personal space/cave time. What we came up with was, one night a week, the other person had to be out of the house from after work until 10PM. This allowed one person to have the place all to themselves. That would give two nights a week we were apart at school/seeing friends/whatever. It made a big difference reducing how much we were on each others nerves and made communication about other issues easier. Might be worth a try. bluetwo 0 #27 June 1, 2010 I've basically gone from one extreme to the other, living as a single man for my whole life to now sharing a place with my GF, and all I can say is it'll work if you want it to. I mean for me I have to REALLY want it because any time I get complacent she lets me know in some subtle way. The way I see it we're meant to live and love in life so go for it! uks 0 #31 June 5, 2010 If you're desperate for your own space then have it!!-I found earlier this year after my now ex G/F was monopolising my time with being with her I was being smothered! I'm a very independent bloke that likes his own space and time out to do the thing's I want to do-It was bloody hard work for me to be in a relationship and I decided to take a break from relationships as such we still are friends and we still do dinner etc with each other however that's as far as it goes, I find I'm much better off like this as I make the best of the time I have instead of being there with her more or less 24 hours a day, She has her own place now which did work better for a while but she still had to go as I was spending more time over at her house than at mine which was back to square one-not good, as much as she's a really nice decent Lady It wasn't going to work out and yes we talked and talked before it went skew wiff, (I'm not saying before you lot jump on me) this is the way ahead for you! but it worked for me-and If I was to get into another relationship then it'd be a casual one as me and relationships just don't seem to work John Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
