Bruised ass bone...OUCH!

BROTHER....one poorly planned PLF landing and man my tail bone hurts. How do you know if you bruised it or broke it....? And how long does it take to get better?
Pardon the pun but it's a small pain in the ass.

Ummmmm....an xray is the only real way to tell if ya fractured it or not.....from my exp. they can be a bother for a LONG time[:/]

Sounds like you went straight onto your butt instead of up the side of your body. That was a real common scenario for students on the old round chutes, and caused a lot of injuries. I don't know much about the heal times, but a busted tail bone is not much fun. How's your back?

Oh the back is fine!
I came in two weeks or so back from my high solo and i just had my feet a little too far out and and a little too square with the earth and just landed right on my ass first not on my heels then thighs then ass.
Didn't hurt much. No brused no red spot not....sign of damage.
It's just a little bit of a pain enough to make car rides fun and sitting in a chair is ok. It just feels a little funky right at the crack of my ass.....:P

No no mate it's cool.
I made three jumps after that and one was my low solo. And I landed just fine.
I've never hadd any assbone issues (insert joke here) and WebMd says i'm going to die so I thought I would ask the professionals who know more about asses and bones than I will ever know what their thoughts were.
No bruise....just discomfort...you know kind of like if some one were to punch you in the ass...I think they call that a Donkey Punch.

Actually I think that's a blow to the back of the neck. Neither is recommended, but if you punch a woman in the ass I doubt it'd go down too well.

And don't I remember telling you somewhere to be careful when you finally got back in the air?

Yeah it wasn't a "hard" landing....just a funky one you know I'm sure I'll be ok. I mean come on it's no big deal. just a pain in the ass and as long as I'm sitting straignt up it's fine...so in a way it's god for my posture. But I'm a white guy driving a VW Jetta....and man I need to get my gangster lean on when driving and it kind of hurts a little.

What he said. But take it from a x-ray tech (me), dont even bother going to the doc for this one. For the way they'll treat it your gonna waste a lot of money. Get one of those donuts to sit on if it bothers you that bad... Thats all the doc is going to do.

What is your level of pain tolerance?

I saw Pat Mcgowan blow a landing years ago,(fuck he covered 35 feet on the first bounce) he limped a bit, but kept on going,(jumped probably 200 more times, before finding out he broke his back! :o(Pat is one tough sumbitch)

I have seen others call for an ambulance to take them off the field...that weren't even injured!

"Odds" are, ya just bruised it....But if pain continues to the point of Severe...we are talking back here, nto worth taking chances, get to a doctor!

All my other jumps it's cock (inser joke here) the lower body a little to the left or right, toes, ankles and knees together, bend knees and come in as if you are slidign into second base.....and that's what I did with subsiquent jumps. And I was fine. It was just that one jump.
so what am i looking at a few week or a few months of sitting up straight at my computer?

Yeah that's what I think, and you guys are 100% what can a doctor do for this. Nothing.
But on the plus side I am sitting up with perfect posture and spending more time on the bike :)
It also gave me a great excuse to take my pants off when my hot Hungraian date was over at my place this past Saturday. She was a nurse in Hungry....not sure what she does now.....but she checked me out goooood and said i would live :)

I landed ASS first on a rear riser flare on jump 9. Could not sit for more than a hour at a time for almost 6 months. Got xrays and everything was fine, but that shit hurts! I have torn and broken different bones and that was nothing compared to a tailbone injury. Get comfy seating is all i can recommend

Postes r made from an iPad or iPhone. Spelling and gramhair mistakes guaranteed move along,

lay down and rest it an inch above or below wehre the ache is comming froma and man....oh that feels so so so so good for hours!
That's why I think it's a bruise and not a fracture.
If it were a fracture it would hurt like hell if things were bouncing around.
Word to the wise, come in on your hips baby...like you are sliding into second base with your arms holding you schlong.

No mom I'm making my flat turns at 200ft and no lower, some times one 360 on the base to get down to 200ft...I've noticed it helps me better sight the wind line and then I line up to where I want to land and let her ride in.

What happened was on my high solo I flared a bit high and instead of PLFing on my hip i pushed my legs a little forward squared up and landed....with a little thud...on my but. So I bruised it a little. Nothing major just a pain in the ass...you know me.

Oh no...I know exactly how I screwed up and my instructor and friends pointed out what I did wong and why I should not do it.
But still what was done was done.....so who wants to massage my sexy Persian ass?
