Sad start to the solstice celebrations

Firstly a very sad event, I know the station well and know why it happened.
Kids looking for a quick way to the beach,
The small station has at least four big signs warning against crossing the tracks.

I just hope the RENFE ( Spanish railways) give the train driver all the help and support
he needs.

It's very sad kids lost their lives in an accident that could of easily
been avoided.

But all to often in these cases the innocent drive is all but forgotten.
You think he's just going to return to work as if nothing ever happened?

They were just making the link clicky; they posted within a minute of each other so it wasn't a comment on each other.

I can't imagine how the driver must feel. I remember reading an article that one wrote once, and it was strong. There's absolutely nothing the driver can do to stop what he can see is going to happen.

Overall it's very, very sad.

There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)

I've been through that station on the high-speed, watching the video gives me the chills.


A very good friend of mine is a retired engineer, he had a couple incidents he was involved in...it never goes away.

I can't imagine one on this scale, very tragic.

I've heard that train engineers in the U.S. that it's better than even odds they'll hit a vehicle or person in their careers. My heart goes out to the victims and their families.
