PLFXpert 0 #1 April 20, 2010 What a wonderful program idea. As an active member of several local and nationwide animal welfare organizations, I have been asked before if I would be able to/interested in fostering pets (fostering helps provide potential adopters with information on the animals' at-home behavior). Ultimately, it takes a special kind of person of which I am not. However, fostering a pet that already has a loving home in support of our troops might be something I am up for. I wanted to share the info in case others are interested, too. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

PLFXpert 0 #3 April 20, 2010 Super! Many military pets are surrendered to shelters when their owners are called for service. Fostering seems like an enjoyable way to potentially save someone's beloved pet's life and support our troops in one sweet-furry swoop. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back. I searched high and low for a home for our dogs, since we knew we would be apartment hopping for a while...I finally left them with what I thought was a friend...less than 30 days later, he shot them both...because they were too much trouble....He was NOT happy to see me when I cam back threw Mo.! Fort Hood in Gatesville, Texas is the near-future home of the national office for events to support the troops, their families and their pets.
