Amazon 7 #1 July 2, 2010 Cheap Airfare?? $6 flights to offer standing room only A European carrier will test dirt-cheap 'vertical seating.' One catch: You'll have to pay extra to use the toilet. European airline Ryanair is determined to install stand-up airline seats -- even though regulators say the setup doesn't meet safety requirements. The airline said it will start testing "vertical seating" next year, according to the Daily Mail. That's around the same time it will begin charging passengers one pound ($1.50 U.S.) to use the airplane lavatory The idea is to remove the last 10 rows and maybe even the two lavatories (who needs those anymore?) in the back of Ryanair planes. Then the airline will install 15 rows of stand-up seats. The airline will undoubtedly begin selling these seats for shockingly low prices. Once they gain some acceptance, the fares could begin to creep up.
Heatmiser 0 #2 July 2, 2010 Delta Airlines attempted to pull my DZO and another man off of a flight from Atlanta(I think) to OKC, citing weight and balance. When asked how much over weight, they said 600 lbs. My DZO is 165 soaking wet, and so was the other gentleman. They might lose some weight with the standing seats as opposed to standard seats, but what about double the amount of passengers in that area? What you say is reflective of your knowledge...HOW ya say it is reflective of your experience. Airtwardo Someone's going to be spanked! Hopefully, it will be me. jonstark 8 #3 July 2, 2010 Fat chance!!! The amount of energy absorbed by the seat in the event of impact is certified very strictly to save lives. This had to have been released on April first. jon
