jtval 0 #1 March 11, 2001 I was almost in a fit of rage yesterday, lemme explain why.i flew up to n.y from Ga. i two little puddle jumper planes. of course we didnt go above 13k ft. and i haven't jumped since nov 11 2000. ever hear" water, water everywhere but not a drop to drink."?I was going through my dive flow, emergency procedures etc. the only thing i forgot to do was jump....eeeeerrrrgggg. although, it's good to be back where people can appreciate a good bit of sarcasm,it was the first time in about a year that i "landed" in a plane. i was nervousoh well, anybody got a similar story?have fun, live free SKYDIVE!!JT
froggie 0 #2 March 11, 2001 jtval,aw. i feel your pain :( Went thru ground school last week but couldnt jump cause of the damn snow. Was gonna try and jump level 1 yesterday but that didnt happen. Woke up today, thinking "i can jump!" got out to the dz and stacy told me that they were on a 100 jump minimum cause of the winds. Hung out for a few hours but then i headed home. Stacy, please call if I can jump! hehe. wishful thinking. damned winds. maybe the winds will die down soon? I can only hope.froggie
Stacy 0 #3 March 12, 2001 I'm sorry froggie! winds were ok in the early AM. grounds were OK, but there was the every so many minutes gust to abotu 26 which is a definite no for AFF. I scratched off a load because i wasn't comfortable with gusts that different from the surface winds. You know I'm scared when I scratch a rockin' 4 way... =c(StacyStacyhttp://astro.temple.edu/~sweeks

jtval 0 #11 July 5, 2010 Actually I did get bored enough to go to the DZ. In june I jumped in 5 dz's in 5 states. I would have made it 6 if I didn't lose my wallet. But the post you're referring to said the opposite. I was not bored at home. My niece wasn't born when I made the original post about being at the dz preferred to the house. My photos My Videos
CarrieByTheSea 0 #12 July 5, 2010 No... Pure torture, is a rare opportunity to do beach jumps ALL DAY on the beach in our backyard and not be able to because one has back surgery scheduled. I was like, "Just do it; it's before the surgery, now is the time." He was all, "I would swoop easy. I mean, I need speed to land more softly, anyway." Ultimately, we decided it was not smart the day before back surgery but... He's sad. I am, too. NEVER leave the DZ, yoru missing out on a big part of skydiving! This is th elearning you can do without having to pay for it! Plus the upjumpers will notice yoru dedication, and be more likely to take you under thier wing once your out of AFF!
