If you get it custom made you can have it done anyway you want. If possible get at least the jumpsuit custom made. Depending on the helmet manufacture you can get it painted how you like and if you get your rig new then you can have any colour you want there.
It just depends on how much you want to spend to get your colours.

You could get very lucky and find the stuff second hand but i think the only real option is to buy new if your fussy about colours. Every manufacturer does custom stuff so you can any colour you want even if it is a bit weird (im trying to be nice here!)

As far as the UK USA thing it depends on you.
Most of the manufacturers are in the states so if you buy here you will have to pay tax, shipping... which brings up the price.
But if you go to the states a lot i dont see why you cant have it made and sent to a US DZ and pick it up when your out there (cutting out import tax and shipping). But it does mean you have to be very sure that you will beable to get it and finding a DZ who will do it for you. I think if you buy it through a DZ shop they will be more than happy to keep it for you until you can get it.

Good luck

Unless you care little for money go second hand for at least some of your first kit. Most people buy to get them in the air then later downsize and get the colours they want. It's kind of an accepted that your first rig's gotta look like cack... kind of a rite of passage thing.

If you travel to the states a lot, I'd say buy from the states. Their ecconomy is fried and our second hand market sucks. These two facts mean you stand to save anywhere between 75% and 50% on pretty much any second hand gear. Hell I just bought a brand new canopy from the stats for less than you'd pay for a beaten up canopy over here.

That's good advice, spend the money on getting your skills up now and aim to but your first rig, either new or second hand at around 50ish jumps.

At the rate most students progress if you order gear now chances are you'll have "outgrown" the size of canopy you ordered by the time it gets to you.

And always speak to your instructors before you order any canopy, they've seen you land and are in a position to give you the best advice on canopy sizes.
