skyrider 0 #1 July 16, 2010 Why a Mod 'warned" you? Ebay boards are that way, If you ask why,.,,"Banned"! (anywhwere from a day to a month) How da fuck can you learn the "unwritten" rules, if all you get is, "You been warned" with no name saying who just got warned! theonlyski 8 #3 July 16, 2010 I've been warned, and never gotten a reply back as to why when I PM'ed the mod. Only been blocked once, but I dont remember why."I may be a dirty pirate hooker...but I'm not about to go stand on the corner." iluvtofly DPH -7, TDS 578, Muff 5153, SCR 14890 I'm an asshole, and I approve this message
wolfriverjoe 1,523 #4 July 16, 2010 The "warning" post is always an "in reply to" post. Click on the "in reply to" and you will see the post that generated the warning. If you don't understand, PM the mod that warned you. I've always gotten responses from them when I have questions. Edit to add: I've never been warned, so they may or may not answer those PMs It isn't the mod as much as it is the other poster (the one who baited you). Certain folks on here have learned (mostly through being banned) exactly where the lines are. They are very good at pushing right up to the line and baiting the unwary into making posts that get them warned or banned. Certain posters actually take pride in getting others in trouble. I'm not sure why that sort of trolling doesn't generate warnings and punishment, but there's a lot of slack in SC and I'm neither in charge nor aware of all the rules and standards (particularly the unwritten ones) that they enforce."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." futuredivot 0 #5 July 16, 2010 Usually you see what post the mod replied to(click the "In Reply To" and that tells you where the offense was. I have requested clarification back when I gave a shit and was trying to be good-never got one. Now, no biggie-break a rule, get banned. I'm not jumping anymore so there's zero chance of me missing any useful info if I get kicked out of the party. You are only as strong as the prey you devour

Well, if a person is really honest with themselves, they usually really do know deep down in their heart why they got banned or warned or whatever. If you can't possibly imagine why, then ask yourself if you've really followed these simple rules here. Those rules have been in place pretty much since day one when I signed up and I was here before this incarnation of the web site was so I'm fairly certain you or anyone else has been given ample opportunity to review them. Please note that under those rules, nobody has the obligation to warn you about anything, least of which the violation of the very publicly posted rules. It's a bit like going 100 mph in a residential section of town. Does the cop really need to explain why he pulled you over? Yeah, I guess legally he does, but FFS, you really do know. Most Moderators here will send along a PM or something for newbies that might be confused. I've never felt obligated to even warn the really egregious violators; blatant attacks, ads in forums . . . FFS, they just need to man up and take some responsibility for their own assholishness.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
davjohns 1 #10 July 16, 2010 Quote I was told I was being too polite in the SC. I quit the SC because it seemed to be the 'mindless bickering' forum. Polite debate seemed a lost cause. Never try to teach a pig to sing and all. I've never been warned or banned. I wonder if I need to change something?I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

In the NBA and NFL the refs almost always seen the second foul, the retaliation. They don't use vidio replay for that. Here, on the other hand, it would be easy to check out the posts leading up the egrecious behavior. If it's the same poster "pushing the buttons" maybe some thing might be said to the button pusher. We are skydivers after all and given the personality traits of a Type A person our buttons are perhaps more easily prshed. In the NBA the rules have been modified.
