BillyVance 35 #3 July 30, 2010 I've seen that before... Repost, though its been a while. I know I've seen scenes in the movies where dynamite gets lit up and tossed in the water and then BOOM but I always thought that was bullshit. I figured the water would extinguish the fuse... I was thinking about what if the dynamite blew up before the dude had a chance to throw it? There wouldn't be anything left of him and the bridge would be in the water. Not to say that you couldn't make a bomb from something as simple as a little Drano, water and a piece of aluminum foil sealed in a 20 ounce plastic bottle and give it a good shake. It will go BOOM within 30 seconds!! Dammit, now I have the itch to try that... A *really* fun thing to do, (to someone with good hearing), is to sneak up behind them and light a piece of dynamite fuse.Even people who have never *seen* it before, recognize the sound and jump like they just heard a rattlesnake."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. Green, little bit smaller than a 120v electrical cord. It's waterproof (the burn material has it's own oxygen supply) and will burn under water. LongWayToFall 0 #17 July 31, 2010 Cannon fuse, aka visco fuse, is simply black powder wrapped in threads, with a coating applied to the outside of it. The diameter of the fuse and quality of the coating determine if it is water proof or not. If you wish to make visco fuse waterproof (you aren't sure if it is, and don't want to risk it) simply apply a few wraps of electrical tape. After the fuse is burning and the flame enters the tape, it won't go out. Here is a cool video of a large bottle rocket being lit in a hole in a frozen lake, you can see it zooming around under the ice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gLlRaRRWJ_0&feature=related

Amazon 7 #19 July 31, 2010 Uh you might mention to drill first. and keep the hole sized to the fuse.. THEN put in the powder... also not a bad idea to make sure you are grounded while handling the powder to make sure there is no static electricity. A friends dad owned a mine and Robbie used to steal explosives and use them to blow up neighbours mail boxes (we were about 14 at the time). It came to an end when Robbie decided to show a couple of friends the effect of dynamite in a swimming pool. The blast caused a crack in the swimming pool structure causing $1000's of damage I don't think he could sit for a month. He was mad as a hatter - we also made "shotgun" jeans which were the rage at the time - problem was we hung our jeans on his moms chicken runExperienced jumper - someone who has made mistakes more often than I have and lived. You forgot to add a good attorney to your "ingredients list". Homemade explosives tend to attract the attention of law enforcement. And that includes the BATF.
