CarrieByTheSea 0 #1 August 9, 2010 The Thundershirt. Has anyone tried one/heard anything about it? It reminds me of Temple Grandin's squeeze machine. When we first adopted our beloved mutt, I witnessed a full-on panic attack during a thunderstorm. It was brutal. He has since overcome his fear, but I remember that trip to the vet and the subsequent prescription for "doggie xanax" which we tried once and vowed never to give him again. The "thundershirt" makes logical sense, but I no longer have reason to give it a try; just wanted to provide a can't-hurt-to-try alternative for those with a scaredy-mutt."Nature is cruel, but we don't have to be." ~ Temple Grandin

My first rescue, Bug, had SEVERE separation anxiety and would bolt if you moved too fast or if you stomped on the floor. I used this http://www.rescueremedy.com/pets/ on her. Mostly during the first 6 months I had her. She would get a little "squirrley" at sunset. Must have come from her being dumped on the side of the road at 5 months. Did WONDERS for her. But she is deaf and has no issues with thunderstorms (just had a BIG one roll through here tonight ... still rumbling after an hour). The floor vibrating or if you walk too heavy stlll makes her jump. In theory, looks like a good idea. 'Shell
