wolfriverjoe 1,523 #201 August 13, 2010 Beerlight's picture looks to me like a passenger/civilian version of a B-52. I looked around quick, but couldn't find anything about one, so I could be wrong, or it could be a fake."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." riggerrob 643 #208 August 13, 2010 That jet airliner was a prototype built in East Gemrnay during the 1950s. Since it was based on a communist jet bomber, it was way too complex and way too heavy to carry a significant payload, ergo would never have turned a profit as a civilian airliner. It never went into production.

It sure looked like a B-52 to me, but I'm no expert and I know the Soviets based a lot of their stuff on our designs."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." muff528 3 #218 August 13, 2010 Yes!.... another article I read stated that an earlier version was released at about 13000 ft and became the first a/c to fly solely on ramjet power. Interesting experiments and cool looking jets.

Surely not. What about the pre-war Junkers? (Just because it has no jet engines doesn't stop it being an airliner).... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
