bmoore21184 0 #1 April 8, 2005 I got some new custom handles from RWS. I put the 3 rings back on with the new cutaway handle. The cables were too long, it went all the way to the end of the hard housings with about 2 inches left before the handle got to the velcro. Is it as simple as having a rigger clip the cables to make them shorter? Not sure if the reserve cable is the same way, will find out when I get it repacked. Thanks. ryoder 1,590 #2 April 8, 2005 RWS cutaway cables are not shipped-to-fit. Go to their website and download the manual for your rig. Then search it for "trimming cutaway cables"."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. bseriesboosted 0 #4 April 9, 2005 Is it a good idea to cutaway a canopy on the ground and make sure that the cables pass the loop at the same time because i realized that my left cable still had about 4in to go after the right side released and that made me kind of nervousPruitt Skydive The Farm

The cable that goes to the riser that has the RSL attachment will be slightly longer. This is done so the RSL does not pull the reserve pin before the other riser has released and is clear. Be safe. It's supposed to be longer on the RSL side.Sky, Muff Bro, Rodriguez Bro, and Bastion of Purity and Innocence!™
