Actually, they do X-rays on the system after it's been packed and sealed to inspect for any items that don't belong and to insure that it has been packed correctly. The documentation process is quite detailed and often requires photos and x-rays of various component parts during the packing process as well as multiple signatures from those involved with packing it and those who oversee the packers.
