It is especially awful when professional athletes do it because they set trends. The announcers should be ridiculing them.

If it were kryptonite, maybe that would do something useful, but not titanium. It is as stupid as the irenew bracelets.

I don't like to wear rings when I skydive. I got a finger trapped in a line on opening once, and it hurt like hell. If I had been wearing a ring, I probably would have lost the finger.

As far as those necklaces with closing pins, I think they look cool enough, but one time I saw a guy's necklace fluttering behind his neck in freefall, and I wondered what the odds were of that damn closing pin snagging some lines on opening. Anything can happen up there, no matter how slim the odds. A woman died in Europe a few years back because her deploying reserve became entangled in her shoelaces.

And then there's the woman at a dz near me who jumped topless and snagged her nipple ring on exit--ouch~!

I could only facepalm. People really are dumb enough to buy into this crap? "Energy balancing bracelet"? The second I see "energy balancing" or "adjusts your biofield" I just have to shake my head at the gullibility of the species. It took 5 seconds glance at the claims and testimonials of either product to realize this is stuff sold to the stupid. Same kind of people big on pyramid power and homeopathic quack medicines.

I know a guy who (used to) have a titanium wedding ring. Not for the oogie-boogie stuff, but for the symbolism of the durablitiy and strength of it.

It turned out to be a less than brilliant idea when he smashed his hand in an accident.

The hand and fingers swelled.
They couldn't slide the ring off in the E-Room.
The ring was cutting off the circulation.

They had a very, very hard time cutting through the titanium ring.
Before they finally got it cut, there was some serious discusson about the possibility of losing the finger.

The new one isn't titanium.
