Looking for info on Para-flight

Recommended Posts

As a student, I have an oppurtunity to purchase a Para-Flight 220 Turbo Z with a Para-Flight Swift plus 220 reserve. Is there a web site I can go to to get more info on this company?
In your opinion, is this a good size for a new student (only 18 jumps so far)
Thanks

My opinion would be to wait until you are closer to the end of your student training and at that point ask your instructors what they think. Meanwhile check out other peoples' gear to get an idea of what is out there. There's almost a mountain of info to try and figure out one piece at a time about what canopies are available and what they're like, but working away at that knowledge mountain can help you make your own decision in the end.

I don't know anything about the Turbo Z canopy or the Swift Plus (other than that one worked for me once), so I'd have to search the gear forums to learn peoples' opinions on them, I suppose.

Depending upon your weight (i.e. less than 200 pounds) a Swift Plus 220 might be a decent reserve for you, but only your local instructor can answer that question with any certainty. Hint: ask Buck to critique your landings.
Judging by David's experience, a 220 Turbo Z might be decent main canopy for a junior jumper, but only a local rigger can tell you if the canopy is airworthy. Hint: ask Neil McGrath to inspect the canopy before any money changes hands.
