JohnMitchell 16 #3 November 1, 2010 Ugh, this is the time of year when retailers tell me if I don't buy a bunch of useless crap for my family that I don't love them. I love being together with family and other loved ones during the holidays. It's all the commercialization that makes it so stressful.

Literally bought everyone's presents on Christmas Eve I used to wait till the last minute too. You'd be surprised at the selection of gifts at the local truck stop. Not much in the way of wrapping paper, though. Most of the things worth doing in the world had been declared impossilbe before they were done. Use the Big Nickel Want Ads for wrapping paper. It's cheap, it's colorful, and they can read all the ads while they unwrap their gifts.

I love giving things to people, and esp. having friends and family over for dinner, parties, etc. I just don't like what Christmas has become in this country. The Europeans seem a little more low key and relaxed about it.

popsjumper 2 #10 November 2, 2010 Quote Ugh, this is the time of year when retailers tell me if I don't buy a bunch of useless crap for my family that I don't love them. . I don't buy presents for Xmas and that's one reason why. Other reasons: 1. I want to see who gets mad because I didn't buy them anything. It shortens my list for next year. 2. Saves big $$$$$ that's used for toys for the kids. 3. Saves big $$$$$ that's used for jump tickets. 4. One more year that I get to snub the assholes in my family (see reason #1). 5. Fighting Walmart women is waaaay out of my league. My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus.
