wildcard451 0 #1 November 10, 2010 Well, after my renewed interest in video games - I am finding my 5yr old sony bravia 40" isn't gonna cut it anymore. I was looking at these two TVs, and find it hard to believe that 3D is THAT much more of a difference. Can anyone else see much of a difference, or have a better recommendation? I am limited to 50/52" http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/670950-REG/Sony_KDL52NX800_KDL_52NX800_52_BRAVIA_1080p.html http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/670960-REG/Sony_XBR52HX909_XBR_52HX909_52_BRAVIA_1080p.html Thanks kids. turtlespeed 226 #2 November 10, 2010 I am extremely happy with http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=panasonic+viera+tc-p50vt25&hl=en&safe=off&rlz=1W1ADFA_en&prmd=ivs&resnum=1&wrapid=tlif12894151599741&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=13356963496541810606&ei=GOraTNPJJsP78AbdvcDgCQ&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CEgQ8wIwAA# My Panasonic. More features than I can use, including it's own internet connection like a PS3 has and such. Their 3D is what I linked to - but you really don't need all that yet. It's a waste as you are very limited in what is available.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
ManagingPrime 0 #3 November 10, 2010 +1 for Panasonic. Remember not to long ago when plasmas were 20K +.... Give it a few years for the 3D price to come down...more than likely the current incarnation of the tech will not even stick.
wildcard451 0 #4 November 10, 2010 I could care less about 3D. Not even in my looking. Just wanted to make sure the remaining specs were the same.
normiss 883 #5 November 10, 2010 I just went with the Samsung PN58C550. hhgregg had it for $1296. I have been a major fan of plasma for a long time and am very pleased with the improvements they have made to the technology as well. I couldn't be happier with this tellie. Amazing picture and specs. Nice options and settings. No clue on the speakers though as I haven't used them at all. I love the look and finish, no stupid stickers of features, no corporate name in glowing lights, just an amazing picture.

If he is going to buy this for gaming - thenm I would suggest a Klipsche surround sound I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
normiss 883 #7 November 10, 2010 meh...efficient speakers but not as accurate as I like. I have a Yamaha receiver - hope to upgrade it next year. I currently have the RX-V3000 and want the new RX-A3000. I have a room full of NHT speakers, mains have 2 sets of crossovers, a large Velodyne sub, and a few Aura Pro bass shakers powered by a mono 250w class a amp. For some strange reason I prefer movies at home as opposed to going to a theater.
