AggieDave 6 #4 November 21, 2010 This month's Popular Mechanics had an article about the work that went into the show. One of the automotive editors for the magazine was on the build. You would probably enjoy the read.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
petejones45 0 #5 November 21, 2010 haha i'm really surprised that anyone watches that show anymore, its not even about myths its about explosions... also that oriental guy really peeves me off. How can they even fathom that a porsche would be more areodynamic going backwards? The reason that they have car designers is to make it as aerodynamic as possible while still looking good waste of money Look out for the freefly team, Smelly Peppers. Once we get a couple years more experience we will be a force to be reckoned with in the near future! BLUES!

The PM article talks about the "right" way to quick and easy test the car with a full scale wind tunnel, but discussed that it wouldn't make an entertaining show. Either way you slice it, Mythbusters is still better than Jersey Shore or Jon and Kate give birth to a football team.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." airtwardo 7 #11 November 21, 2010 also that oriental guy really peeves me off. That would be Grant Imahara, I met him once through a mutual friend. A really nice guy with a lot of 'robotic' credits to his name...he operated R2D2 of Star Wars fame and made the Energizer Bunny robots ...just to name a few. What 'peevees you off' so much about him?? The fact he's a nice guy, is smart & successful or is it, as you say, the 'oriental' thing ? ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~

Kind of wondered that myself, maybe over sized eye's creep him out!The only thing that bothers me about that show, is every challenge gets reffered to as the toughest they have ever taken on..."Every?" petejones45 0 #13 November 21, 2010 What makes me mad is that had a competent build team, scotty kari and tori then they kicked scotty off and filled it in grant, probably to make the show racially balancedLook out for the freefly team, Smelly Peppers. Or maybe - just maybe they didn't turn the car around in the wind tunnell because it really won't ever matter how aerodynamic the car is in reverse.
