Call him. Talk. His text is no indication of anything wrong.

Just like when your phone was off, he may think you are not very interested.

Freakin communicate!:D

Yes, you're totally right, but I'm not sure how to approach this one. The main thing is we're in different countries. And either way you look at it to pursue it I would have to travel back to Moroco. And I just don't want to feel like a massive ass by chasing this boy if he is not interested!!!

I think I will give it a couple of weeks and see how I feel. If it's still bugging me I will give him a call, I think.

Edit: one of the trekkers just sent me this picture of us. If nothing else, it's a lovely souvenir..

I hope we get to see you again in Moroco.

WE???

red flag red flag!

Here is another Red Flag, "Mohamed"....have you seen the rights of Muslim women? :oFugdat...

Yes, I know. :S They have more rights in Moroco since 2009, but nothing like Western women..

+1. Instead of all or nothing, get to know the guy. He didn't ask you to marry him -- he asked you to spend some more time together.

I would also say that considering his culture and Bayram holiday, he was being respectful both to you and to his family. Bayram holiday (esp time away from work/with family) lasts about a week.

Hate to say it Nataly, but you have been 'enjoying' one of the classics... This guy is a professional tour guide - it's the same story as the skydiving/ski/scuba instructor in the exotic location - they enjoy the challenge/conquest (however far it goes) and then move on.

As should you.

Respectfully
Ivan

I'm gonna agree with that.

The "professional tour guide" who probably does this sort of thing on a regular basis is a total cliche, but in this case I think it's true.

And thanks for the new sigline, Lucky!:)

Yeah, I agree - I was cringing the whole time I was writing it up!! :D:D

Still, to me it seems like a whole lot of unnecessary sweet-talk.. Why beg me to stay right up until I left him at the airport, for instance? Like I said.. For all I know, it's a cultural thing. But yeah.. It's just too cliche, isn't it?

As for the "we" bit.. Yes, I thought "red flag" as well, but he wrote the text in French and the whole text is FULL of grammatical / spelling mistakes, so what exactly he meant is anyone's guess. (French is only one of like 5 languages he speaks..)

Anyway, it was a lovely memory - one I'm not keen to tarnish by chasing after a guy who isn't genuinely interested.

Use of Royal "WE" not good:ph34r:

Yo, Nat. It took you till post #142 to give us crucial facts - like cultures and nations of residence! - we should have had in the OP.
We're your therapists. We can't help you if you don't give us the facts.

:D:D Yeah, well it just all sounds so cliche I was a little embarrased, actually! :$

He was totally respectful and didn't even try anything. We talked and talked and we curled up together around 4am finally but even though I was exhausted I couldn't sleep a wink.

When I meet someone I feel so connected to, and if we do the big spoon/little spoon thing, that's the only time I can sleep feeling safe and content.

(in French) "Hi Natalie. Hope everything is well with you sorry if I didn't send a message earlier but I didn't have time because I went back to my family for the [religious] holiday. Thank you for your email I hope we get to see you again in Moroco. Thank you for the nice moments we spent [together]. Take care Mohamed."

Playa, playa... and I'm not talking about a beach.

He practically begged me to move to Moroco to be with him (seriously, he did) and 5 days later he writes that???? It doesn't fit.

Those tour guides are professional flirts. He knows you are on vacation and everything always sounds so awesome when you're in vacation mode. I think he totally played with the babe in the woods side of your personality. UGH. I'm sorry chica...

I don't really know why you read any of my threads - you seem to find fault with anything I write anyway.

It wouldn't have anything to do with the constant "woe is me what should i do threads" that she very regularly posts.

You'd be surprised at how many people take marriage seriously.
