tetra316 0 #1 November 22, 2010 So I'm finally at that point in my like where I will actually buy new furniture that is designed to last a good 20 years or more. They are offering to spray it with silicone as a protectant for a fee. Kind of like scotch guarding it I guess. Should I pay for this service or just by the scotch guard cans? Anyone had this done and was it worth it?
BIGUN 1,488 #2 November 22, 2010 I'm a fan of 303 fabric Guard http://www.303products.com/shop303/index.cfm/category/66/303-high-tech-fabric-guard.cfm Having said that... you may want to check the manufacturer's warranty for any fabric guard product to see if it violates the warranty.Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard. JerryBaumchen 1,468 #3 November 22, 2010 Hi tetra, Please don't tell me that you are buying from Paul Schatz!!!! I've spent a lot of $$$$ there but 'NEVER AGAIN.' JerryBaumchen
davjohns 1 #4 November 22, 2010 Check with the manufacturer. I suspect they will tell you it has a protectant when it leaves the factory and needs nothing else. I have run into this on several products (hang gliders, furniture, cars). Dealers want to squeeze a nice profit margin out of you for a useless add-on.I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.
tetra316 0 #5 November 23, 2010 No, they actually said there is nothing on it from the manufacturer. It's Lazboy furniture actually.
