quade 4 #26 November 21, 2010 Spoilers may follow if you haven't read the book. Seriously. You've beed warned. QuoteI think thatthe book to movie ratio was pretty high in part one. Part of the issue is the way the book is structured. Like it or not, Hollywood has a very, VERY, specific concept of what parts of a story go where. This current movie ends at what screenwriters and development types would call "the mid-point." That's not the mathematical point 1/2 way between pages 1 and 759, but rather the point at which the main character realizes that the journey he started, isn't necessarily the journey he's on. For instance, at the start of The Wizard of Oz, Dorothy thinks she just has to see the Wizard and she can go home. The mid-point is where the Wizard tells he she has to bring back the broomstick of the Witch of the West. So, for this two part movie, this is the correct place for the last Harry Potter book to be split. I just think the mid-point in the book comes a little mathematically late and seems especially so due to there being so many chapters devoted to Harry, Ron and Hermione hiding out in the tents. Quote The climax of the book is yet to come and I think they will spend more time and money detailing those events. Agreed. Hopefully the final movie lives up to the decade long build up. I really want it to be great.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

Like it was mentioned before - you pretty much have to be a fan to enjoy this movie. You would have had to have at least watched the movies if not that and read the books.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun

I read the books, so I went into it knowing this wouldnt be the exciting one. Gotta give them credit for sticking to the book though. I still think they shouldve released both movies at once. So people would have the option of seeing them together or coming back a week later, or whatever. I'm going to be out of the country when the next one comes out, so nobody post spoilers! It's possible to know the books, but not want how certain parts of it are dealt with "spoiled." For instance, a person might know that one of the characters will have a fairly interesting dream sequence, but not want it "spoiled" as to how that plays out visually.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver

lost_n_confuzd 0 #35 November 24, 2010 ****SPOILER ALERT*** The new Harry Potter sucked balls! It was like Lord of the Rings part Deux. All they did was walk around the woods for 2.5 hours and argue. Ron Weasley bulked up since the last film and Harry was a whiney bitch. I'm surprised Ron didn't beat the shit out of Harry with his new muscles. The only thing remotely good about the whole damn film was Emma Watson, she's a hottie. [insert wand joke here]. Edit: I'm a Potter fan, read the books, and liked the other films. Hopefully part two will be better.
