warpedskydiver 0 #1 December 6, 2010 Calif. coroner says body is lost Russian skydiver Sun Dec 5, 9:34 AM EST Investigators have confirmed that a body found by a Southern California farmer is a Russian skydiver who was last seen jumping from a plane more than two months ago. Riverside County coroner's officials, in a Saturday news release, identified the man as 50-year-old Vladimir Frolov, a tourist who took a solo jump from a plane on Sept. 25 in Perris. A farmer plowing his field found the body Tuesday, along with parachutes that had not deployed. Because Frolov was traveling alone, no one immediately reported him missing. Authorities found his rental car and passport in the airport parking lot five days later, after a friend in St. Petersburg called the skydiving company. The coroner didn't give a hometown for Frolov. Searchers using ATVs, a helicopter, horses and dogs had looked for Frolov with no luck.

Squeak 17 #4 December 6, 2010 anyone know how far from the DZ this place was? "Extensive" searching failed to find him, when jump run was known and winds afloft etc..? A nothing out landing would indicate not too much drift. You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! How's yours doing? Approx 3/4 of a mile. >"Extensive" searching failed to find him, when jump run was known and >winds afloft etc It might be hard to find even a body when it's partially underground in 2 feet of weeds. You'd almost have to stumble into the divot.

skyrider 0 #10 December 6, 2010 Quote Just read the thread in inicdents, they givemore detail on the mature of the lnad and apprently 3 foot(ish) weeds in field. Most of the fields around there are like that! Plus, very little traveled, as I mentioned in the original thread , a buddy of mine died out there a few years back, and his body laid undiscovered less than 30 yards away from his own van, (which punks had burnt out) The police had "searched" for his body before vandals burnt it, and didn;t find it....He had died while shitting in the bushes...The Perris Police are clueless when it comes to searching! skyrider 0 #11 December 6, 2010 Which reminds me, when people loose freebags,or mains, it is not unusual to go next door and higher an aultra light pilot to go search, without fail, they find it...Why didn't the Police do the same for a body?
normiss 897 #12 December 6, 2010 Sadly a body makes quite a divot. Add to that 3' of plant growth, it would be quite easy to miss someone. This case seems to prove that.

The shit that grows around Perris...VERY easy, much of that 3 foot tall crap is thorn plants, No one is going to go threw it, when they can go around it! There is a very good reason Perris regulars don't jump barefoot, they know the foliage(sp?) in the area...nasty stuff!
