Pulling the slider down

Recommended Posts

I've got these covers over my soft links and I was wondering how you get them off, so I can pull my slider down behind my head. (pic attached)

Also, I've heard that pulling your sider down doesn't actually help performance unless you jump at least a 135 or smaller. I jump a 170 right now, but when I look at pictures of my canopy in the air, it seems like pulling the slider down would help it to stretch out more. So what is the deal?

Yes you can remove them,(BUMPERS) and the slider will continue further down the risers. Beware this could block your view of your toggles or worse knock one loose. Be heads up and familiar with canopy control and use of rear risers.:)I don't know about the 135 size, but collapsing your slider AND loosening your chest strap will allow the main canopy to open/stretch more. To accomplish this shrug your shoulders inward while you tug at the chest strap buckle. Good luck.

Hi!
You just have to open the slinks and remove the slider bumpers. If you are not sure how to install them again, check out the webpage of Performance Design, there you can find the installation guide. Or ask an experienced jumper on your DZ. It's quite easy, but making a mistake could put you on the reserve...
Of course you could also try to cut the bumpers to remove them, but I personally consider this too dangerous. You could damage your risers and / or lines!

a slider like mine anymore...
