jumpjunkie2004 0 #26 March 26, 2005 Lots of good information on this thread. I'd like to thank everyone that posted here. I'm thinking goggles and open faced helmet for the summer, try out some full faced helmets and maybe Santa will bring me one for Christmas Jump, Land, Pack, Repeat... 174fps 1 #27 March 26, 2005 my first helmet was a protec, I still use it for CReW and Dispatching IAD my second was a bonehead open face, which has become my camera helmet, my third is an Oxygn full face, i find it claustrophobic on the ground but is fine in the air, the periferal vision to the side is better than when i wear goggles, though it does restict vision down towards handles. i have jumped it in the winter and it can fog up/ freeze but it is easy to pop open under canopy andrew
ltdiver 3 #28 March 27, 2005 QuoteA Pro-tec helmet will protect your head at least as well as any other kind. Cutting down on the potential for head injury cuts down on the possible need for rescue measures Actually, a Pro-tec will protect you better than most helmets. Forget the newbie look it has and think about all that foam that helps with deceleration. Other, more cool looking helmets, don't have this full padded feature. However, all in all, we're talking about bumps to the head being protected. Anything with much force won't be helped by a helmet. The helmet will just become a bucket to keep the brains in one place. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
