Mirage Harness Sizing?

Recommended Posts

Quote

I had a friend help me with my harness sizing for my new rig. Has anyone here ever done this with a non-experienced person, or non-skydiver and had good fitting results when they got the rig back?

As in having them measure you? If so, as long as the measurements were done according to the manufacturer's instructions it shouldn't be a problem.

A few tips on measuring for containers or jumpsuits - use a cloth measuring tape, follow the manufacturer's instructions to the letter (and don't be afraid to call or email them with questions - much better than measuring to/from/around the wrong points), don't try to measure yourself, take each measurement twice (and a third time if the first two don't agree), and always measure over the clothes you wear jumping (ie over your jumpsuit for a rig).

I did all the measurements myself when i ordered my mirage, and luckily one of the guys at mirage noticed one of those measurements didn't quite look right and had me double check it. it ended up being about an inch and a half too long on the first measurement. the rig fits perfect though. so having someone else measure it so you can stand still is definitely a good idea even if they know nothing about rigs
